The Lecturer:
The lecturer for this course is Teresa Speer, who holds a BA (Hons) in jewellery.
Teresa is one of the schools resident lecturers and has exhibited both nationally and internationally.
In addition to this Teresa has lectured at both Loughborough University School of Art and Design and Birmingham City University. She has been teaching jewellery making for over 20 years.
Techniques you will use / Skills you will learn
This three-day course covers the use of tools and workshop discipline and teaches the techniques of:
• Basic stone setting
• Silver soldering
• Shaping and manipulating silver
• Piercing (Sawing)
• Texturing
• Filing
• Annealing (Softening Metal)
• Finishing (Polishing)
Jewellery you will create
Under Teresa’s guidance you will create from scratch, using base materials:

A beautiful Gilding Metal floral pendant, soldered, shaped and textured

A Sterling Silver stone set ring, set with a stone of your choice
Materials costs
Materials for this course include sterling silver for your projects together with a stone for €30 total, to be paid during the course.
